"Corona" Update

Dear Guests and Friends of the English Theatre of Hamburg.

In view of the critical situation now confronting all of us because of the COVID-19 pandemic and in solidarity with our community, we have decided to close our theatre for an initial period until the 30th June. We are hoping and (at this time) planning to reopen our doors in July with special guest performances. We are also planning to start our new Season 2020/2021 as usual in September. But this will depend on the further development of the situation. Please watch our website for additional information and announcements.

Tickets you have purchased for performances during this period will retain their value; you may, at your option, either re-book for a later date, or exchange the tickets for vouchers. Please contact us by E-mail at eth-bo@englishtheatre.de for details.

While this decision was essential to avoid any risks to the health of our costumers, staff and actors, it does, of course, represent a terrible blow to our financial situation. We would be extremely grateful for any help that our audiences and supporters might be able to give. If it is at all possible for you, please consider donating the cost of your purchased tickets and refrain from requesting a refund. You can be assured of our gratitude.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our theatre as soon as possible; in the meantime, please stay healthy!

Your ETH Team

The English Theatre of Hamburg e.V. is a private, professional theatre, the first to be founded in the whole of Germany.

It is subsidized in part by the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and is a non-profit organization and a member of the Deutscher Bühnenverein. Enjoy one of our evening or daytime performances of an English language play. Our international audience includes students of English as well as native speakers.

We present distinguished plays of all genres in the original English on a professional basis in our efforts to contribute to international communication through language and the art of the theatre.
