It is with great pleasure that the English Theatre Hamburg announces the worldwide celebrated cult play "Shirley Valentine" with a star cast. The multi-award-winning and Tony Award-nominated play with high-level performance will  be shown in a LIVE online stream. As Shirley Valentine in this "one-woman play", the theatre was able to engage the stage and television star .,Helen Sheals, who is not only known from internationally successful series such as Downton Abbey or Coronation Street, but also shone as Judy Garland in Judy! in the West End. As a true Northerner and accent native, she convinces with an emotionally touching as well as rousing performance, which you should not miss. In this moving piece about self-discovery and the question of where time has actually gone, Shirley enters into a relentless but sensitive reckoning with life and old dreams - somewhere between kitchen table and sandy beach. Breaking out of the entrenched daily routine and finding back to happiness and joie de vivre: This is the task Shirley courageously sets herself. Fresh, entertaining, thoughtful and lastingly highly relevant. The play is both touching and uplifting at the same time, drawing the audience out of the old familiar into the warm Greek sun. No wonder that the play is such a success worldwide.
